Anti-Microbial NeutraSil™ Solid
Following raised public awareness of the increasing presence of MRSA, we have developed a new anti-microbial silicone Specifically developed to break down strains of bacteria and organisms and independently tested to JIS Z 2801:200, against such strains as Ecoli, MRSA and Salmonella across a varied temperature range. Our antimicrobial product is proven to reduce spore reproduction and then accelerate the count reduction to the killing of the strain.
PROBLEM :
The growth of bacteria, fungi and algae on and around rubber seals, gaskets and sheets forms a substantially increased threat to health safety. In addition the growth of microbes on rubber surfaces can lead to foul odours, discoloration and the formation of mildew and slime leading to surface degradation that will significantly reduce component lifespan
SOLUTION :
A silicone rubber containing a special silver based biocide additive
HOW DOES IT WORK? :
As the bacteria or microbes make contact with the silicone surface the bacteria absorb the free silver ions that then destroy the bacteria / microbes by breaking down their cell walls. The silver ions inhibit the growth of any micro-organisms and deter it from contaminating or colonising its surface therefore providing ongoing protection
ADVANTAGES OF USING OUR ANTI-MICROBIOLOGICAL SILICONES :
The free silver ions on the outside of the rubber remain active even after several cleaning cycles. The silver ions are also released in areas that are hard or impossible to access with cleaning detergents (e.g. hairline cracks in a seal or inner surfaces of gaskets), whereby bacterial growth is suppressed. The additive has been approved by : FDA, EPA & EFSA. It has no taste, no smell, is non-toxic, non leaching and non corrosive with stable performance in temperatures up to 200°C. Independently tested and found to destroy on contact MRSA, E-coli, Salmonella, Campylobacter, etc. Because the additive is mixed at the time of manufacture and not solely applied to the surface, performance is not affected by scratches; bumps or general wear and tear and lasts for the usefulness life of the product,
